Items Acceptable for Recycling

Items Not Acceptable for Recycling

1. Clear Glass Jars: vegetable, soup, juice etc.

Ceramic/clay pots, chinaware, porcelain, light bulbs, windows, mirrors, plate glass.

2. Paper: Newspaper, newsprint, inserts, computer paper, white bond, magazines,telephone books, envelopes(no window)

Junk mail, paper towels, paper tissue, toilet paper, loose leaf paper, carbon leaf paper, envelopes, plastic laminated paper, writing paper, gift wrap paper, brown paper bags.

3. Cardboard: Corrugated cardboard (broken down, flattened and tied), egg cartons (cardboard or styrofoam)

Plastic coated packaging, frozen juice containers, food boxes, detergent boxes.

4. Plastic: Plastic film, (grocery bags), plastic containers - Type I (milk bottles, windshield washer fluid bottles, vinegar bottles, juice bottles), Type II (margarine tubs, ice cream pails, sour cream tubs)

 

Biodegradable/Photodegradable bags, foam plastic,  milk bags, plastic food wrap, herbicide, fertilizer, pesticide containers, diapers, toothpaste containers, dishes and cutlery, gasoline containers,  bleach bottles, fabric softener bottles, detergent bottles.

5. Cans: Tin food cans, aluminum cans.

  

6. Bottles: Beer, wine, liquor, plastic and glass soft drink bottles

  

7. Tetra Packs: all tetra packs(all sizes), gable-ended juice containers, lids removed

   

8.  Engine Oil Containers: empty engine oil containers (leave lids on)

   

9.  Boxboard-single layered cardboard (cereal boxes, pop cases, cracker & shoe boxes). Please make sure that all plastic and waxed paper are removed from boxboard before recycling.
